Jakarta — Darma Mangkuluhur Hutomo, eldest son of Tommy Soeharto and Tata Cahyani, is increasingly in the spotlight. The 27-year-old recently proposed to longtime partner DJ Patricia during a romantic moment in the South African savanna, a chapter of his personal life often shared with followers across social media.
Born on August 8, 1998, only months after his grandfather President Soeharto stepped down, Darma grew up within the influential Cendana family. Though he never experienced the height of his grandfather’s power, the family’s stature shaped his upbringing. His early passion was racing: by the age of eight, he had already joined Humpuss Junior Racing Team, founded by his father.
Educated at top international schools, Darma completed his secondary education at Overseas Family School in Singapore in 2016 and later graduated from EU Business School in Barcelona, Spain, in 2019. This global education prepared him for the challenges of both family businesses and his own ventures.
Professionally, Darma serves as President Commissioner of PT Intra GolfLink Resorts Tbk (GOLF), listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The company manages prestigious assets such as Palm Hills Golf Club in Bogor, New Kuta Golf in Bali, and Black Rocks Hotel and Golf in Belitung. The majority of shares are held by PT Bali Pecatu Graha, a firm founded by his father.
Beyond golf, Darma sits on the board of PT Wisma Purnayudha Putra, which developed the Mangkuluhur City Office Tower in Jakarta, and holds a directorial role at PT Humpuss Land, the real estate arm of Humpuss Group. These roles highlight his growing influence within the family’s extensive property and development holdings.
At the same time, Darma has carved out a path of his own. His ventures include Lounge In The Sky Jakarta, Indonesia’s first elevated fine-dining concept offering a unique experience 50 meters above ground, and BOCA RICA Tapas Bar and Lounge, a Spanish-inspired dining spot in the capital.
