According to data sourced from the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI), the tally of insurance agents surged to 375,000 individuals by the second quarter of 2014, with Prudential Indonesia boasting over 200,000 certified agents during the same period.
Mudahar reiterated the company’s resolute commitment to enhancing both the caliber and quantity of its agents. A prime exemplification of this commitment is Prudential Indonesia’s mandate for agents to maintain regular office presence at least once a week. “This directive serves to instill a sense of discipline among our agents. Additionally, we conduct comprehensive weekly training sessions aimed at augmenting their knowledge and skill sets,” Mudahar elaborated.
Moreover, Mudahar emphasized the intrinsic alignment of the agency distribution model with Indonesia’s unique archipelagic structure. Furthermore, amidst the backdrop of comparatively modest insurance penetration levels vis-à-vis neighboring Asian nations, he underscored the pivotal role agents play in furnishing clients with in-depth and comprehensive financial planning insights. While not constituting the primary distribution channel, Prudential Indonesia also nurtures partnerships with a minimum of five banks, including Bank Internatioanl Indonesia (BII), recognizing the potential symbiosis offered by bancassurance collaborations.
