“Sandiaga Candidly Addresses the Fate of Aguan’s Hotel in IKN”

In a candid revelation, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno shed light on the fate and progress of the construction of Hotel Nusantara owned by Aguan Cs in the National Capital (IKN). In an official Instagram post on his account @sandiuno, he appeared to be inspecting the development of tourism and creative economy facilities in IKN Nusantara, including a firsthand assessment of the construction progress of Hotel Nusantara.

“After inspecting several tourism and creative economy facilities, we can confirm that, God willing, by the end of July or early August 2024, they will be ready for operation, especially Hotel Nusantara,” said Sandi, on Wednesday (1/5).

“We also ensure that the facilities for the creative economy center that we observed can be operational by the end of July or early August 2024,” he continued.

In the future, there will be training for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Sandi emphasized that the curated MSME training is also in preparation for Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day celebrations in IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

Minister Sandiaga affirmed that he will continue to coordinate with the IKN Authority to prepare for Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations on August 17, 2024. He mentioned the preparations of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, especially for the tourism and creative economy sectors.

“We will coordinate with the IKN Authority so that the process of celebrating August 17 is also felt by the wider community, including MSMEs and the operational tourism facilities,” he explained in the IKN Authority’s official statement on Tuesday (30/4).

“I am sure that our MSME friends we met earlier are all enthusiastic; this can be completed on time,” Sandi emphasized.

The Nusantara Hotel in IKN, which Sandi inspected, is funded by several Indonesian entrepreneurs. This is a project led by a consortium headed by Agung Sedayu Group’s Bos Agung Sedayu Group Sugianto Kusuma, also known as Aguan.

Furthermore, President Joko Widodo directly attended the groundbreaking ceremony for this project in September 2023. Jokowi also expressed his gratitude for the contribution of Rp20 trillion from these 10 entrepreneurs in Indonesia’s new capital.

“I would like to express my respect to the investors who are part of the consortium from Agung Sedayu Group, Indofood (part of Salim Group), Sinarmas, Pulauintan, Adaro, Barito Pacific, Astra, Mulia Group, and Kawan Lama Group,” said Jokowi during the groundbreaking ceremony for Hotel Nusantara in IKN.

There is also another company, Alfamart Group, which is part of the Nusantara consortium. Jokowi accidentally forgot to mention it in his speech but directly greeted Djoko Susanto, who is the CEO of Alfamart Group. “Mr. Aguan (Agung Sedayu Group’s Bos Agung Sedayu Group Sugianto Kusuma), Mr. Franky (Sinarmas Group’s Bos Franky Wijaya), Mr. Prajogo (Barito Pacific’s Bos Prajogo Pangestu), Mr. Eka Tjandranegara (Mulia Group’s Bos Eka Tjandranegara), Mr. Pui (Pulauintan’s Bos Pui Sudarto), Mr. Boy Thohir (Adaro’s Bos Boy Thohir), Mr. Kuncoro Wibowo (Kawan Lama Group’s Bos Kuncoro Wibowo), Mr. Djoko Susanto (Alfamart Group’s Bos Djoko Susanto), and others whom I cannot mention one by one,” Jokowi continued.
