Aceh Tengah Leaders Receive PGM Award 2025 for Excellence in Madrasah Education

Jakarta – At the heart of Indonesia’s educational landscape, distinguished figures from Aceh Tengah were recognized at the PGM Award 2025, held at the H.M. Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The Regent of Central Aceh, Drs. Haili Yoga, M.Si, and the Head of the Office of Religious Affairs of Central Aceh, H. Wahdi MS, MA, were honored for their unwavering commitment to the advancement of madrasah education.

Presented as part of the 17th anniversary of the Indonesian Association of Madrasah Teachers (PGM), the award highlighted the dedication of leaders who have championed the vision of building independent, high-achieving, and globally recognized madrasah institutions. The honor was conferred by Dr. Thobib Al Asyhar, Director of Teachers and Educational Personnel for Madrasah, on behalf of the Minister of Religious Affairs.

In his remarks, Regent Haili Yoga expressed gratitude, describing the award as a reflection of the government’s long-standing mission to cultivate excellence in education across Aceh Tengah. He underscored that true progress in education requires collaboration across sectors, innovation in programming, and a vision for global competitiveness.

For Kakankemenag Wahdi, the recognition is a testament to the strength of partnership between the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Aceh Tengah and the local government. He emphasized that this achievement was the product of collective dedication and shared responsibility, bringing forth madrasah that are not only independent and progressive but also a source of pride on the global stage.

The 2025 PGM Awards also honored other influential leaders, including the Head of the Aceh Provincial Ministry of Religious Affairs, Drs. H. Azhari, M.Si, Head of Madrasah Education Division, H. Khairul Azhar, S.Ag., M.Si, as well as regional government leaders and education figures from across Indonesia. Each awardee was recognized for making a tangible impact on the future of madrasah education.

As PGM celebrates its seventeenth anniversary, the Awards reaffirm the central role of visionary leadership in shaping educational excellence. For Aceh Tengah, the accolades bestowed upon its leaders reflect not only regional achievement but also a commitment to elevating Indonesian madrasah to international prominence.
